Our Romi Story
Romi Cycle is a family owned and operated business here in the USA.
The owner, founder and creator of the Romi Cycle, is none other than Joe Garcia. Joe in his youth loved exploring and roaming the street of Los Angeles as a young boy. Every day was an adventure for Joe; and he had a knack for creating and inventing things he would find while out exploring the surrounding communities of LA. He would take every day objects and turn them into incredible inventions or some incredible work of art.
As Joe grew up, so did his inventions and his family!
Joe still lives in Los Angeles, CA and is the father of six grown children; he has 14 grandchildren and is a great granddad to one. Joe loves living a carefree life, has a big heart and is adored by all who met him.
In 2011, Joe made the first prototype of the Romi Cycle. The freedom he felt roaming and gliding through the streets brought him back to his younger days. He wanted to share this adventure with others and show people what the Romi Cycle could do. So, Joe had an ideal…he’d set out to do a solo ride from Morongo Valley, CA to Pomona, CA. on the Romi Cycle.
So, Joe contacted the local newspaper and was able to set up an interview. They were impressed and agreed to print the article. The paper got the word out about Joe’s Romi Cycle ride and on his 64th birthday; Joe set out to glide the Romi Cycle from Morongo Valley, CA to Pomona, CA.
After 18 hours and a lot of stares from passing on lookers, Joe arrived in Pomona, CA to the cheers and howlers from family and friends who waited to celebrate this momentous occasion. He had made it and the dream of a young boy became a reality that day. Joe had glided his way into history on the Romi Cycle!
As the family came together to continue to develop the Romi Cycle, they found their family motto “Good living is doing everything right" was already a part of their daily lives…it was soon agreed that this was the hope for all who rode a Romi Cycle. Good living is doing everything right!
